Art Resources

Art can be a wonderful resource for chronic pain, not only to distract, or increase “enjoyable activities”- an important goal, but also to access and work with our emotions- an important component in improving chronic pain. Look for more information in this section in the spring of 2014.

Note: When I did my research on “Chronic Pain and the Expressive Art Therapies” for my masters thesis (finished 1998), I found to my surprise that all the different art therapies I looked at used guided imagery. That’s what prompted me to get trained in Interactive Guided Imagery. Imagery is one profound way to bring both the artistic and the spiritual into our healing journey.
